Pearls from Thakurji

Opinion
After taking the shelter of a true Master, think independently and express your own opinions respectfully. Reading books don’t become like a book. But try to breed its essence in your bones. “Pull the husk to draw the seed.” Don’t pass any opinion on or give up anything after only superficial study. No real knowledge is gained about a thing until it has been seen thoroughly, and what opinion can you give if you have no knowledge about it? Whatever you do, try to see the truth in it. To see the truth in a thing means to know how it exists, and that is wisdom. About the things you do not know give no advice to others.
Selflessness
If you are unable to give up your defect even after knowing it, do not ruin others by supporting it in any way. If you be good yourself, thousands of people will be good seeing your example. If you be bad, you will find no one to sympathize with you in your distress because being bad, you have made your environment bad. Know this for certain: You are responsible for the present and future of yourself, your family, your environment and your country.
It is not right to start any activity with hope for name and honor. But to the extent you do any work unselfishly, name and honor must serve you. What is done for the self is selfish. What is done for others is selflessness. Merely to ask nothing for self or others is not selflessness. Give away! Desire nothing for yourself, and you will see that everything is becoming yours.
Help others
Try to give others as you desire to have. To proceed with this understanding much is enough. Everyone will like you and love you spontaneously. Being just, try to make everyone happy in an honest way. You will find that many are trying to make you happy. Be careful – don’t try to make anyone happy at the cost of your ‘self’; then your troubles will know no end.

Meditation as told by Shri Shri Thakur

Meditation ------- as told by Shri Shri Thakur
"Cultivate the practice of the Holy Name only for a few days. Eventually you will have the realization of the highest Name. It is not perceived as sound, but the Name is an echo, i.e. an appropriate verbal representation of the experience that is had with our whole being. Just start the chanting right here and now. To get beyond the limitations of the mind we have to repeat Name intensely. To stop the function of the mind, a ceaseless continuation of vibrations is essential.
"Practice name in a rhythmic way and fix the gaze of your inner eye on the right point. Keep you engage yourself in concentration. Sit in such a posture that your limbs don't become slack. A sleepy tendency is likely to overtake you, but do not indulge in it. You may be deeply absorbed in concentration but even then you should not let your hands and feet hang loosely. Don't get distracted. Even if you do, give it no shelter. You should practice like this three times a day, each time for one to one and half-hours. Name should be repeated mentally and that without any break. If you can continue it persistently you may be assured of attaining perfection in the course of four to six years.
Chant Name with tremendous speed. When you chant Name with each and every inhalation and exhalation, it will normally lead to ecstatic absorption. Do you know what it is like? Chant Name 4,6,8, or 10 times in each inhalation and exhalation, then you will transcend the limitations of physical body.
"Practice meditation. You will obtain whatever you focus on in meditation. Chant the Name of God. You will grow stronger physically. You have nothing to worry about physical stamina.
You are in tune with both the earth and the highest point of heaven. You are a storehouse of infinite power. I am imparting the fundamental clue to you. Whatever you will eat after doing it will be easily assimilated. You will even overcome and absorb all that is clearly hostile and unfavorable to you.

Shri Shri Thakur on "Brahman"

Following received from Sthiti Dasgupta, an ardent devotee of Shri shri Thakur --
Lord Krishna says, "The supreme indestructible is Brahman" Bhagvad Gita, sloka no.3 ch.8. Sri Sri Thakur views that the word Brahman has been derived from the root word "Brinh" which means "Expansion"(Briddhi) or "Effulgence"(deepti) that is Brahma=Brinha(Briddhi, Deepti) +man(karttari) ref .bagartha Deepika, pgno.108 . As per this analysis, Sri Sri Thakur defines "Brahman" in the following terms: that which being developed and becoming everything, yet remains the same, is Brahman "ref. Satyanusaran, Eng Version. he also says "Brahman" as" Brihat bhava samanwita briddhiparata saha aadi karana" or otherwise "Biswasristika adi upadana "Ref. bagartha deepika.
Hence it is now clear that "Brahman" is the common factor which is manifested in all living entities(living and non living) as there base. It is due to the presence of brahman that each individual has the ability to respond, react and perpetuate with an uphill move towards becoming.. It is not the Varna as we all know. Whom we call Brahman are only "Vipras".

Make me blessed and bloomy

Say with solemn heart

To thy Beloved,theLord-
The lead
I like thee,
I love thee,
Bestow Thy blessed glance
on me
So that
I may serve Thee
all through
My life’s existential wave
which prolongs my life
to live for Thee;
and make me active
to serve Thee
Others as well
with every soothing service
by which
I do devote myself
to Thee;
Make me
blessed & bloomy
by Thy fragrance
so that
I can be enthusiastic again
with every serviceable
suffering of life
to make Thee happy
For me,
thus,
let me be divine
so that
I may serve Thee
with every elongated
Divine thrill.
